Guidelines for company projects
Specific Guidelines for Company Projects
Content-related
- Company projects must address a documented skills or competency need among employees in the applicant company. The company is free to choose its supplier; however, all activities must take place in Denmark and be conducted in either Danish or English.
-
Employees in Denmark whose salary is below the threshold specified in the OK25 collective agreement (see page 82) are eligible for funding, including part-time employees, employees in subsidised employment, flex jobs or senior jobs, apprentices, and students.
-
The application must be completed and submitted through the portal on the Website of Finanskompetencepuljen.
-
An activity and budget plan outlining the costs of fees and related expenses, including any co-financing, if applicable.
- A cost estimate from the provider.
-
- The employee representative must be informed and/or involved in connection with applications for company projects.
- Grants cannot be used to cover participation fees for employees with a monthly salary exceeding DKK 87,000 (effective from 1 July 2026). Nor may they be used for employees’ acquisition of mandatory certifications, such as those required for investment advisors or insurance intermediaries, employee or management buy-outs (time release), licences, transportation, or catering related to the project.
Financial
- A company may apply annually for support totaling up to 130% of the company’s annual contributions to §2 (comapany projects and company courses).
- Regardless of the size of its annual contributions to §2, a company may always apply for support of up to DKK 100,000 per year (comapany projects and company courses).
- As a general rule, support of up to DKK 30,000 per employee may be granted for a company project. Higher amounts require special approval.
- The company’s own co-financing may be included in the overall budget or may supplement co-financing provided through §2.
Time-related
- A company may apply for support up to two months after the completion of a company project. However, it is recommended that applications be submitted before the activity begins, so that there is clarity regarding funding before payment to the course provider is due.
- Once a company project has been completed, the company must submit a final report no later than six months after completion (see below), and any unused funds must be returned to §2.
- If the company project has not been completed within one year of the approval of the application, the granted amount must be returned to §2.
- If the total semi-annual contributions to §2 are exhausted before the end of the half-year period, new grants can only be paid out in the following half-year, once new contributions to §2 have been received.
Requirements for Final Reporting
Upon completion of the project, the company must complete a reporting template (provided by Finans Danmark together with the grant approval letter), stating:
- The purpose of the activity.
- The number of participants and the activities carried out.
- An assessment of whether the project objectives were achieved.
- A simple financial statement, accompanied by receipts documenting the project expenses.
