Determine your level of education

Finanskompetencepuljen provides courses that require a specific level of education and experience. If you are unsure of which courses you can apply for on the basis of your current level of education and experience, you can find help in the overview of the educational system.

The overview shows which courses you can apply for based on your current level of education. If you have completed a diploma programme, for instance, you can apply for admission to individual subjects at master level. In this case, you must be particularly aware of whether your education qualifies you for admission. You can examine this by either looking at the admission requirements of the course concerned or by contacting the study administration unit at the educational institution.

If you have not completed a qualifying study programme.

If you do not have a formal education or if you have not completed a qualifying study programme, your work-related experience may be significant for admission.

You can get an assessment of your actual qualifications and receive credit for your experience if your skill-sets correspond with the formal requirements.

Example 1:

If you are self-taught within your sphere of work and if you have not completed a formal education, you can get an assessment of your actual qualifications and receive credit on the basis of the experience and tasks you have completed during the course of your career. If you are a self-taught IT programmer, for instance, it is possible to apply for admission to programming courses at diploma or bachelor level, if you qualify for credit based on an assessment of your actual qualifications by the educational institution.

Example 2:

If you are trained in the banking sector at vocational level, you can apply for admission to HD part 1 (Graduate Diploma in Business Administration). If, after completing your training programme in the banking sector, you have completed the academy level Financial Consultancy programme, you can apply for admission to HD part 2. If you have completed the academy-level Financial Consultancy programme, you may apply for admission to diploma programmes if your experience-based qualifications meet the formal requirements stipulated by the diploma programme.

The educational institutions assess your actual qualifications on the basis of your experience and decide whether you may be admitted to the course. If you have any questions about the assessment of your actual qualifications and your possibilities for admission, you must contact the educational institution which is providing the course in question.
