This course is designed to equip participants with knowledge about legal aspects of data and the skills necessary to ensure privacy, security and compliance when handling data including personal, sensitive, or confidential data and when reusing software. Participants will gain a deep understanding of data governance and protection regulations such as GDPR, learn pseudonymization and anonymization techniques, understand legal arrangements between the creator of the data/code and the end-user, and explore best practices for maintaining data privacy and security. Through case studies and practical exercises, participants will develop the necessary expertise to effectively address privacy and security issues as well as ethics related to data management.
